Voting for the eighth and final spot in the 2010 K&N Horsepower Challenge, the lucrative special event for Pro Stock drivers that takes center stage June 26 during the 4th annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals at Summit Motorsports Park, will close Saturday, June 19, at 9 p.m. ET.
Fans can vote by navigating to the K&N Filters website. The winner will be announced during ESPN2’s broadcast of NHRA Race Day presented by Lucas Oil from the 10th annual NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals, Sunday, June 20, beginning at 3:30 p.m. ET.
The reward for the driver voted into the eighth slot is a first-round match with Mike Edwards, who at the first 11 events of 2010 has seven wins and nine No. 1 qualifiers.
A purse of $76,000 is available for the eight drivers competing in the K&N Horsepower Challenge. The winner of the 26th annual bonus event will earn $50,000. The runner-up will earn $10,000, the two semifinalists $3,000 each, and the four first-round finishers $2,500 apiece.
