Mohegan Sun Racing and Royal Purple Oil will promote the release of the new movie Iron Man 2 on a special edition of the David Hope-ridden Stark Motor Racing Buell for the first five races of the NHRA Full Throttle Pro Stock Motorcycle season.
Mohegan Sun Racing Marketing Director Brian Bozsum announced the partnership plans to promote the movie, which opens in theaters May 7.
“David Hope will be our Stark Motor Racing Iron Man 2 rider, and he definitely fits the bill,” said Bozsum. “David is very dedicated to fitness and has a daily rigorous workout regiment. As you will see at the track, it has paid huge dividends, leaving him without an ounce of body fat. You combine that Iron Man fitness look and his persona, and what you end up with is a real-life Iron Man, no sequel needed.”
The partnership with Royal Purple’s Stark Motor Racing Buell began a couple of months ago with Patrick Burris, motorsports marketing coordinator of Royal Purple Oil.
"The Royal Purple Oil family has been an associate sponsor for the past several years, and that relationship has now blossomed into this great opportunity for David and the team," said Bozsum. "We take pride in the fact that Royal Purple Oil has chosen our team to promote their products as well as the Iron Man 2 movie.”
"When rumor of the Stark Motor Racing Buell promotion came to my attention, I was pumped up," added Hope. "I felt like a kid getting his first comic book or action figure. I'm looking forward to the moment, and I think we're going to have a lot of fun with this.
"I was already a big fan of the original Iron Man movie. Now I can be a true advocate for Iron Man 2. I couldn't think of a better way to start the season than riding the Stark Motor Racing Buell with the backing of Mohegan Sun and Royal Purple Oil. I'm excited for our race debut in Gainesville, and I'll definitely be at the theater on May 7 for the release of Iron Man 2."
“The team is in Franklin, Tenn., this week to shoot a special airing of PowerBlock TV to air May 1, prior to the release of the movie,” said John Hammock, owner of Vroom Racing. “After the taping of the show, we’ll get loaded up and prepare for the 41st annual NHRA Gatornationals season opener in Gainesville, Fla. We’re looking forward to opening the season with an action-packed theme just like the Iron Man 2 movie. We can hardly wait to get the season started."
