Ideal Racing partners with PiranaZ, rocker Pearcy

The newly formed NHRA Funny Car team of Ideal Racing has signed apparel maker PiranaZ, a longtime NHRA supporter, as its primary partner for the opening races of the 2010 NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, in Pomona and Phoenix. PiranaZ will also continue to partner with Ideal throughout the rest of the season through sponsorships and B2B-driven programs. Additionally, platinum-selling rocker Stephen Pearcy, founder of the rock band Ratt, will join the team as its promotional front man for the season. The partnerships will kick off at the 50th Anniversary Kragen O'Reilly NHRA Winternationals presented by Valvoline.

"We are excited about being involved with the soon-to-be winning combination of Jeff Diehl and Tony Shortall," said Jason Caldwell, director of marketing, PiranaZ. "Jeff is a cool character, hard-core racer, and will be a great representative of the PiranaZ brand of Motorsports Lifestyle Apparel, and as for being tied in with Stephen Pearcy of Ratt, well, that speaks for itself."

Pearcy will also bring his record label and recording artists from Top Fuel Records (www.stephen-pearcy.com) along with band members from Ratt to Pomona to welcome the fans and Ideal Racing marketing partners and to rekindle his longtime passion for NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing.
