Friday's 1^st Round Notes

12:20 p.m., Jan. 31, 1997


     Super Gas driver Mark Morrow suffered a possibe
fractured jaw in a two-car accident in the shutdown
 area Friday morning during the first round of
eliminations.
     Driver Pat Lafferty suffered no apparent injuries
in the mishap. Both drivers were transported to Pomona
Valley Hospital.
     Morrow, 44, from Spanaway, Wash., was driving in
the right lane in a 1965 Chevrolet Corvette. Lafferty,
 34, from Wendell, Idaho, was in the left lane driving
an 1978 Ford Mustang.
