Followed by a huge fireball and parts scattering on to the track. This all started around 200 feet down track and ends way past the finish line. Head moves on for the win. (W) Cory McClenathan 0.492 4.739 313.04 (L) Joe Amato 0.486 4.788 296.15 This is a great side by side drag race until a 1000' mark when Joe starts to spin the tires ever so slightly and Cory motors on by for the win. He will have lane choice over Head in the rematch of the finals from the U.S. Nationals. (W) Scott Kalitta 0.494 4.707 302.72 (L) Shelly Anderson 0.543 5.015 272.97 Kalitta continuing to show power and consistency, that wins races. Shelly getting real loose at mid-track.
