Bob Tasca III and his AutoAlert Ford Mustang will return to the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series tour at Maple Grove Raceway for the Dodge NHRA Nationals with backing from AutoAlert.

“It feels like it’s been an eternity since I was in the seat,” said Tasca, who will make his first appearance since the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals in June. “Coming off a semifinal appearance at Norwalk, it killed me to have to sit on the sidelines all summer waiting for the Maple Grove racing. I can’t wait to get back out there!”

Tasca is focused on picking up right where he left off.

“We got close to victory in Norwalk and, trust me, we want a win to end the season. We’ve stocked back up on parts during the last few months and we will run hard this weekend at the Grove!”

Tasca, who has a long history at Maple Grove, knows how to win there.

“I have so many great memories racing at Maple Grove in my alcohol and nitro Mustang Funny Cars,” he said. “I will never forget my first professional start in my Alcohol Funny Car; I had John Force and Tony Pedregon standing behind me. It was an awesome feeling. A few years later, I won the event in 2009 against Mike Neff. It’s been a while, but we have a race car that can win it again!”

Tasca is enthusiastic about the expanding partnership with AutoAlert.

“We have a great partnership with AutoAlert," he said. "Their AlertMiner and One-to-One Intelligent Marketing have helped us grow our dealership business and our race program, with three races this season and more to come next year.”

AutoAlert CEO Mike Dullea commented, “We’re proud to sponsor a great racing team that has such a rich family heritage, has a history of focusing on performance and shines a positive light on the automotive industry as a whole. Beginning with Bob Tasca, Sr., who successfully ran the family Ford business and went on to found Tasca Racing, the history of this team is steeped in dedication to family, customers, and fans.”

Tasca also reports that his goal is to return to the tour full-time in the future.

“I have been hard at work trying to put a deal together for next year,” he said. “As you can imagine, running one of these cars at the level I want to run at is not cheap. The growth of the sport on TV and increased attendance has made it easier to gain sponsor interest, but I’m still searching for full-time funding.”
