NHRA officials announced today that the final rounds from the NHRA JEGS Allstars competition are scheduled to be broadcast live on Fox Sports 1 on Saturday, July 8, during the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series professional qualifying show from the Fallen Patriots NHRA Route 66 Nationals presented by K&N, which airs from 5-7 p.m. ET. Complete coverage of the JEGS Allstars specialty event will be shown during the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series coverage of the event on Fox Sports 2 on Thursday, July 20, from 8-9 p.m. ET.
The JEGS Allstar competition features the best NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series racers from across the county in head to head eight-car eliminators highlighted by the Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car classes. In addition to individual titles, competitors are also racing for the coveted Division and Regional team championships. Other categories include Comp, Super Stock, Stock, Super Comp, Super Gas, and Super Street along with Top Sportsman and Top Dragster presented by Racing RVs.
On top of the $124,000 purse, event sponsor, JEGS High Performance, has also offered a “double-up” bonus to all racers. Any Allstars representative who wins the Allstars event on Saturday and goes on to win the national event on Sunday will have their Allstar prize money doubled.
