Boost Performance Products of Sandy, Utah, has been named primary sponsor of the Henkelman Motorsports A/Fuel dragster driven by Garrett Bateman for the 2017 NHRA Mello Yello and Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series.

After three seasons as an associate sponsor, Brent Gines and the team at Boost Performance Products will again partner with Rick Henkelman by expanding to primary sponsor at the season opener Circle K NHRA Winternationals in Pomona, Feb. 9-12, and beyond.

“I am very excited to take Boost Performance Products to the next level with Rick and his team,” said Gines.

Serving as a crew member during the 2016 season, Brent worked with the Henkelman team to achieve a career-best seventh-place national finish for driver Bateman and helped the team to victories in Woodburn, Ore., and at the NHRA Toyota Nationals in Las Vegas.

“They let me tinker with the car and get my hands dirty,” said Gines. “It’s a thrill to work on something like this and see it go down the track on a good run.”

Bateman of Albany, Ore., is also excited about the partnership and the new look, saying, “I’m all fired up! Brent has been a great help on the car and a good friend to the team.

“The car looks great, and I’m excited for him and his company to get such great exposure through our team and the NHRA.”

The Henkelman Motorsports team had a banner year in 2016 with three wins and a career-best elapsed time of 5.18 and speed of 276 mph.

Boost Performance Products (BoostPerformanceProducts.com) is a distributor of automotive additives and cleaners, including MAXX™ fuel treatment and is a leading distributor of CleanBoost® oil.

HipLink and NGK will remain as associate sponsors in 2017, and the crew will be led by crew chief and owners Rick and Linda Henkelman with their son, Brandon, serving as car chief.
