Jimmy Daniels, 2016 winner of the Mopar Hemi Challenge, joined NHRA reporter Lewis Bloom via Skype in the Wally Parks NHRA Studio delivered by Papa John’s to talk about his excitement for this year’s event.

The 21-year-old resident from Yardley, Pa., spoke to Bloom from the pits at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis as he and his dad are prepping to defend their title. Daniels defeated Stephen Hebert in the final round joining his dad, Jim (2010), as a winner in the prestigious event.

Daniels drives the family 1968 Dodge Dart using Ray Barton Horsepower. He talked about last year’s win, the field of challengers for this year’s 17th edition and maybe a Factory Stock race car for the future.
