"T.V. Tommy" Ivo's "T"

One of the era's most influential hot rods, "T.V. Tommy" Ivo's "T" was the first serious race car that he built in the 1950s. As a cover car for Hot Rod and Car Craft magazines, it became the prototype for literally thousands of fiberglass "Fad Ts" built in the 1960s and 1970s. It was undefeated in class competition, and in the early days of drag racing, the Hilborn-injected, Buick V-8-powered entry won a few Top Eliminator titles at Southern California dragstrips. After a career as a show car in the 1960s, the roadster sat neglected for many years. Riverside, Calif., resident Jack Rosen restored it to its original glory and has loaned it to the NHRA Motorsports Museum.
