Kenny Bernstein's 300-mph Top Fuel Dragster
Kenny Bernstein's historic 301.70-mph blast at the Mac Tools Gatornationals March 20, 1992, in this Top Fuel dragster made him the undisputed King of Speed, the first to surpass 300 mph that season. No other driver cracked the 300-mph barrier until Doug Herbert at the 1993 season-opening Chief Auto Parts Winternationals. Then crew chief Dale Armstrong marked each component of the car, including engine parts and body panels, following the run to ensure that the car would be in the same condition as it was on its 301.70-mph run when it was placed in the museum.
