NHRA Unleashed is a high-octane, fully interactive experience for spectators and participants, embracing a new breed of drag racing enthusiast looking for pure, doorslammer heads-up competition on the track, ranging from the wild Pro Mods and 200-mph Outlaw 10.5 racer to the 13-second weekend warrior, and a festival environment off the track.
The NHRA Unleashed drag racing format on the track will have the sole purpose of highlighting competition for the pure heads-up grassroots racers in the country, who will be vying for the coveted Wally trophy.
The Disrupt/ive television crew will document every aspect of these events to highlight the excitement and lifestyle of NHRA competitors and fans.
NHRA Unleashed will air each Sunday beginning Nov. 7 at 10 a.m. on Fox Sports Net-owned and -operated regional networks nationwide. (Link to full story) The eight-week series will conclude the last Sunday of the year, Dec. 26. NHRA Unleashed will air in a minimum of 75 million households through Fox Sports Net’s regions throughout the United States.
At every NHRA Unleashed event, everyone and everything is part of the show, which will feature entertaining doorslammer drag racing action including Pro Mods, Outlaw street cars, heads-up class racing, true street cars, and special exhibition runs; interactive events, including dyno, the traditional car show, car corral, cruise-in and a car/parts swap meet. These family-friendly events will also have a Kids Zone with inflatables and other children’s activities to entertain future NHRA drag racers.
Along with enjoying nonstop drag racing, fans can explore a huge manufacturers' midway with a number of interactive displays, a large Show & Shine car show featuring all makes of muscle and classic cars and a automotive swap meet for those who like hunting for that special fender or carburetor.
NHRA Unleashed will provide a sensory overload for competitors and fans of Sportsman drag racing, muscle-car enthusiasts, car-show exhibitors, and high-performance automotive fans of all ages.
