After the first of two qualifying runs of the Federal-
Mogul Drag Racing Series presented by Parts Plus, Jeff Wilson
captured the top spot in the Federal-Mogul Dragster class
while John Powell holds onto the number one position in
Federal-Mogul Funny Car.  Wilson ran a 5.872 second, 239.33
mph pass to lead Shawn Bowen who follows in the second
spot with a 5.895 second, 237.84 mph pass.  A pass of 6.072
seconds, 239.12 mph landed Powell in the top qualifying
spot in Federal-Mogul Funny Car with Kim Fritts qualified
second with a 6.104 second, 237.84 mph lap.  Bob Andrews
leads the Competition Eliminator category with a pass of
7.687 e.t. at 171.97 mph.

        The second and final qualifying session is set for 9:00
p.m. tonight with final eliminations for Federal-Mogul
Dragster and Federal-Mogul Funny Car scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
tomorrow, Saturday, July 27. Gates open at 9:00 a.m. on
Saturday, with racing scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.

        Jeff Wilson improved on his time to hold onto the number
one spot in the Federal-Mogul Dragster class while John Powell
holds onto the number one position in Federal-Mogul Funny
Car.  Wilson ran a 5.768 second, 238.15 mph pass to lead Don
Devault who follows in the second spot with a 5.816 second,
245.74 mph pass.  A pass of 6.072 seconds, 239.12 mph kept
Powell in the top qualifying spot in Federal-Mogul Funny Car
with Kim Fritts in the number two slot with a 6.104 second,
237.84 mph lap.  Bob Andrews leads the Competition Eliminator
category with a pass of 7.687 e.t. at 171.97 mph.

        Final eliminations for Federal-Mogul Dragster and
Federal-Mogul Funny Car scheduled for 6:00 p.m. tomorrow,
Saturday, July 27. Gates open at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, with
racing scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.
