ROCKINGHAM, N.C. – Final qualifying results Saturday after the second round
of qualifying at the Rockingham Dragway, the third of six events in the
Southeast Division in the 1997 NHRA Federal-Mogul Drag Racing Series:

After the second day of qualifying at the NHRA Federal-Mogul Drag Racing
Series, held in conjunction with the Winston Invitational at the Rockingham
Dragway, Bobby Taylor and Tony Bartone remain on top in the Federal-Mogul
Dragster and Funny Car categories, respectively. Bobby Taylor is seated in
the provisional top qualifying spot in Federal-Mogul Dragster with a
5.59-second, 249-mph run.  In Federal-Mogul Funny Car Tony Bartone is the
leader with a track record setting 5.69-second, 251-mph pass.

The Federal Mogul Dragsters and Funny Cars begin final elimination rounds
on Sunday at 8:30 a.m.
