Sunday Results:

Advancing from the No. 1 qualifying position, Cliff Bozzelli won the Federal-Mogul Dragster category at the NHRA Federal-Mogul Drag Racing Series event at U.S. 13 Dragway Sunday. Joining Bozzelli in the winners' circle was Frank Manzo who claimed the Federal-Mogul Funny Car crown. Bozzelli reset the U.S. 13 Dragway track record twice in eliminations, running a 5.724-second lap in the semifinals to defeat Bruce Horner, then two hours later lowering the record again, this time to 5.705-seconds, to cover opponent Ned Ott in the final round. Bozzelli's finish-line speed in the final, 243.44 mph, also was a new track record. Manzo didn't set any track records in reaching the Federal- Mogul Funny Car winner's circle, but did record three consistent laps of 5.99 seconds, 5.97 seconds and, in the final, 6.02 seconds to claim the victory. Final-round opponent Fran Monaghan Jr., who the previous day had set a new track-record at 5.93 seconds in qualifying on the pole, drew a foul start against Manzo.
