Bandimere hosts its second FMDRS event 09/19/01
NHRA FEDERAL-MOGUL DRAG RACING SERIES: Fact Sheet WHAT: The NHRA Federal-Mogul Drag Racing Series, where drivers earn points leading to divisional and national championships. Categories include: Federal-Mogul Dragster, Federal-Mogul Funny Car, Competition, Super Stock, Stock, Super Comp, Super Gas and Super Street. The event is the final of six races in West Central Division competition. It is also the second of two Federal-Mogul Drag Racing Series events at Bandimere Speedway. WHERE: Bandimere Speedway, Denver. Track is located west of Denver on interstate 470 in Morrison.
SCHEDULE: Time trials and qualifying schedule for the Federal-Mogul Drag Racing Series: FRIDAY, Sept. 21 -- Gates open at 8:30 a.m. Qualifying and time trials begin at 10 a.m. Federal-Mogul Dragster and Federal-Mogul Funny Car qualifying sessions are scheduled at 4:15 p.m. SATURDAY, Sept. 22 -- Gates open at 8:30 a.m. Final qualifying and time trials are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Federal-Mogul Dragster and Federal-Mogul Funny Car qualifying sessions are scheduled at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. SUNDAY, Sept. 23 -- Gates open at 8 a.m. Eliminations begin at 9:00 a.m. Eliminations for Federal-Mogul Dragster and Federal-Mogul Funny Car begin at noon. PURSE: The NHRA Federal-Mogul Drag Racing Series competitors will compete for cash and contingency awards of $148,495, part of the 43-race, $6.5 million series. JUNE EVENT WINNERS: BONUS PROGRAMS: SEALED POWER LOW QUALIFIER BONUS -- a $167,500 overall bonus fund from Federal-Mogul's Sealed Power brand to the low qualifiers at each of the 43 Federal-Mogul events and the 24 NHRA national events: $1,000 each in Federal-Mogul Dragster and Federal-Mogul Funny Car; $200 each in Competition and Super Stock; and $100 in Stock. FEATURES: More than 500 drivers in the eight racing categories. Eight-car fields in Federal-Mogul Dragster and Federal-Mogul Funny Car, featuring five-second, 250 mph side-by-side racing. TICKETS: GENERAL ADMISSION/PIT PASS -- $10 Friday, $20 Saturday, $22 Sunday. A three-day pass is $45 and a two-day pass (Saturday and Sunday) is $35. Children 12 and under are $6 each day.
