Comp eliminator cylinder head usage

The NHRA Tech Department has received numerous calls regarding the use of "splayed valve" heads in Competition eliminator. The term "splayed valve" will refer to any cylinder head designated as such by the original manufacturer.

The following chart will define the specific classes in which the various cylinder head configurations will be allowed to compete for the 2002 season:

Hemi-, splayed-, canted-, or inline-valve configuration classes:
Dragster: A-B and D-G
Econo Dragster: A and D-G
Nostalgia Dragster
Altered and Altered Automatic: A-D, I-L and A/AP, B/AP
Street Roadster: A-C
Econo Altered: A and D-F
Super Modified and Super Modified Automatic: A-D,F and H-I
Pro Modified

Canted- or inline-valve configuration classes:
Econo Altered: B
Altered and Altered Automatics: E-H
Super Modified and Super Modified Automatic: E

Inline-only classes:
Dragster: C
Econo Dragster: B,C
Econo Altered: C
Super Modified and Super Modified Automatic: G
