16th annual

Sept. 14-17 - Maple Grove Raceway
|
Racers weren’t ready for the crisp air and tire-grabbing traction of Maple Grove Raceway when the facility, already an institution in the rolling hills of eastern Pennsylvania for 25 years, hosted the inaugural Keystone Nationals in 1985. Engines blew and record times ensued that first year, and it’s been a record run ever since, highlighted by Cruz Pedregon’s 5.07 in Funny Car in 1992, Cory McClenathan’s 4.79 in Top Fuel the same year, the quickest-ever Pro Stock contest in the 1993 final between rookie Kurt Johnson and father Warren, and the first side-by-side 300-mph drag race by Blaine Johnson and Mike Dunn in Top Fuel in 1994.
