13th annual
Prolong Super Lubricants Northwest Nationals
July 28-30 - Seattle Int’l Raceway
Seattle Int’l Raceway, with a picturesque view of Mt. Rainier as a backdrop and thick forests all around, has been on and off the NHRA schedule since 1975 when it hosted the Fallnationals. SIR returned to the tour in 1988 after an eight-year hiatus to host the Northwest Nationals, one of three events in what is known as NHRA’s Western swing. The event has played a pivotal role in the Winston championship races since its return, particularly in Pro Stock. The driver who has left the facility with the points lead has won the NHRA Winston Pro Stock championship for the last 12 years. Last year, Warren Johnson held the points lead and his son, Kurt, took home the event title.
