Pro Stock Truck national speed record holder Brad Jeter wasted no time in impressing his new sponsor, Karl Chevrolet, as he placed his black Chevy S-10 at the head of the Pro Stock Truck field with a pair of track records at the O'Reilly Nationals presented by Pennzoil at Houston Raceway Park.
Jeter ran 7.595 at 177.74 on Thursday's first pass to set both ends of the facility's standards, then followed a session later with a faster-still 177.91 mph.
Randy Daniels, who scored the first national event victory of his career when he defeated Jeter in the final round of the AutoZone Winternationals, sits second with his Chevy S-10 at 7.614, 176.33, followed by defending Winston champ Larry Kopp at 7.623, 176.40. Pro Stock Trucks results
