National Trail Raceway has hosted an NHRA national event the second week of June since 1972. Though the track has produced some big numbers in recent years, it's still one of the trickier on the circuit and probably is best known as the site of some of drag racing's greatest upsets. One of the most memorable came last year, when rookie Funny Car driver Frank Pedregon, in just his 10th race behind the wheel of Jim Dunn's Dodge Avenger, upset Dean Skuza in the final while brothers Cruz and Tony Pedregon watched from the starting line.
