COMP by Phil Burgess
"I've made a lot of deposits in the luck bank over the years; it was good to finally make a withdrawal." – winner Joey Tanksley (page 54)

SUPER GAS by John Jodauga
Sure, Pro Stock Motorcycle can boast seven different winners in seven races this year, but Robert Coleman became the 26th different driver in a row to claim a Super Gas title, the first of his career. "It's still sinking in now," he said, "and every time I get a call from a fellow racer offering congratulations, the thrill of winning becomes just that much more exciting." (page 62)

  • Close-up: Mr. Independent, Mike Berry – In today's world of Pro Stock Motorcycle racing, Mike Berry is somewhat of an anomaly. While most competitors opt to lease engines and receive help from engine builders such as Vance & Hines, George Bryce, and George Smith, Berry has decided to go it alone. By Candida Benson. (page 16)
  • Analysis: June Month in Review – From the carousel of crew chiefs in the nitro classes to Dave Connolly's sponsorship roller coaster and everything in between, the last month has been a wild, wild, ride. By the ND Staff. (page 14)
  • First Person: On The Run with Whit Bazemore – "People think Lee Beard and I didn't get along. You don't win 12 races driving for a crew chief you don't get along with." As always, Bazemore lays it on the line. (page 18)
