Brandon Bernstein's victory in Madison should long be remembered for the masterful job by crew chief Tim Richards of pulling the Bud team out of a deep hole. Not qualified after two tire-smoking shutoff passes Friday, Richards, his wife Kim, and their crew steadily picked away at their combination until they struck the right chord. (page 14)
