Hey everyone! I was just sitting here in the rig at the Texas Motorplex in Dallas, catching up on my paperwork and thought that this would be a good time to write a quick blog about our weekend and week ahead. Though I would have liked to win a couple more rounds yesterday, I was pretty happy with our weekend.
As the season is beginning to wind down, Richard and the guys at Dart have been working on some new engine projects that will help us build on our program for next year. As a result, we have been doing a lot of testing during our qualifying sessions. Sometimes that can be a good thing and sometimes that can be not so good, but we are really excited about the direction that our program is headed. There is no better way to judge your progress than at a national event with ten guys vying for the Championship.
I plan on getting all organized today and then heading out tomorrow morning to go to Ft. Hood Army Base for a promo for Wiley X. We will have the rig and our GXP Sunglass Machine on display right in front of the Post Exchange (PX) and will have the opportunity to meet and greet soldiers, employees and families. This is one part of racing that I love the best (well, besides winning of course!) After the promo we will pack up and have plenty of time to get to Memphis. As always, Toni will be taking lots of pictures so I will share them with you in my next blog.
Well, not much more to tell you about. I notice that Toni is rounding up bags of dirty clothes and piling them in the Blazer so I guess that means that as soon as I am done here, we are going to go “catch up” on our laundry duties. Hey, maybe if I think of a few more pages of things to write about, she will forget about the Laundromat. Fat chance.
I guess since Toni helps rebuild my transmissions, works on clutches, washes the rig, loads and unloads my trailer, puts up the awning, puts me in the car, lines me up on the starting line, feeds our team and then cleans the bathroom I guess I can put a few quarters in the washer/dryer and “help her” do the laundry.
You gotta admit, he has it good huh? LOL
