Many of you already know from reading some of my previous blogs that I have become good friends with Aaron Rowand who plays for the San Francisco Giants baseball team. Melanie and I met Aaron at the ESPY awards a couple of years ago. We hit it off and have kept in touch ever since. Aaron is a big drag racing fan and came to the fall Vegas race and to Phoenix this year. He was at spring training in Phoenix while we were racing this past February and brought out several Giant players with him to the races.
Now to why I am writing about Aaron. The MLB All Star game is coming up and Aaron is on the ballot for the fan vote to play in the game. He has made it down to the final five players and they will take the one who gets the most votes out of those five by this Thursday. He text me yesterday and wanted to know if I could tell my buddies to vote for him. I said sure and I would do one better. I would see if I could get the whole drag racing community to vote for him. I figured since he is a big fan of drag racing that we could get the drag racing community behind him and get him into the All Star game. I would put it in my blog and see if we could get him a few more votes. You can vote as many times as you like, I have been texting and voting on the internet non-stop now and wanted to see if you would do the same.
Last fall we hung out after the Vegas race and Aaron game me one of his last jersey’s he wore as a Philly when he played for them last season. I had it framed this winter along with his bat I used when I did batting practice with the team at last year’s spring training. This season he is playing for the Giants and when we go to Sonoma in a few weeks Melanie and I are going to the game with him on Wednesday night. It looks like I am going to get to do a little batting practice with the team before the game again so I am looking forward to that. Guess I had better go find a batting cage in Denver and Seattle on Thursdays to get in a little practice.

I will write a more detailed blog later today about what has been going on with Melanie and me after I get back from the shop. I have to get a suitcase in the trailer before the guys head out to Denver this afternoon.
