We’ve been off from racing for two weeks, and our team is back at the track today in Las Vegas, and ready to race. Last race in Richmond was really disappointing for us. For us to DNQ, was really surprising for us. We made our quickest run ever during Friday night qualifying, and we really improved our 60-foot time, but it just wasn’t enough on Friday night. But the past is the past, and this race team continues to look forward and not backwards and we’re ready for Vegas.
We did really well here in the spring and had our second best qualifying position of the season when we were No. 3 here. I really like this track and this city. I’ve got a lot of my family out here for the weekend, so it’s nice to have them out here at the track and support me at the track.
Last night we had a really great event at the Shelby Corner café with Ford Racing. They had a sneak preview of their new Cobra Jet Mustang. We had a lot of the sportsmen racers there last night, and also Mike Neff and Robert Hight came out to the event too. The Cobra Jet Mustang is something that is really close to my family’s heart since my grandfather was really a huge part of the original car in the 1960s. We had a good meal and a good time, and it was a great way to kick off the weekend.
