As everyone knows, my father is part of the Al-Anabi Pro Mod race team. He has been traveling to Bahrain and Qatar for the last several months. Last Saturday, my dad called and asked me to go with him to Bahrain. The Sheik had requested I come over with Dad because they have a motorcycle they are trying to get down the track. I left the country on Monday afternoon. We flew to JFK and then over to Qatar, where we changed planes. We arrived in Bahrain on Tuesday evening. Dad and I went to our hotel and went to bed early. We had a long week ahead of us.

Dad and I went to the track on Wednesday. The Al-Anabi team had purchased a bike from the U.S. It is a turbo Pro Street Bike. I have never been on a turbo bike, so it was a learning experience for myself. The first couple of times we could not get it down the track. The tracks over there just are not prepped like our tracks are here in the U.S. After making seven passes on Wednesday, I finally got the bike to go a 7.41 at 199 mph. I was happy with those results. The next day, the rider who usually rides the bike went 7.35 at 199, so we all were pleased with those results. Everyone was so accommodating and helpful over there. Anything I asked for they made sure I got it. On Friday, I got the bike to qualify No. 1. We ended up losing in the final because we smoked the tire. All in all, we were happy. Friday evening after the race, we got to the airport for our long flight home.

The good news is we sold the Pro Stock Bike that Angie rode last year. We have been working diligently to get everything ready to ship to Qatar. The hardest thing for Angie is parting with her bike. She has lots of good and bad memories with that bike. The bike will be shipped out this week and will arrive in time for the race, which is the weekend after Gainesville. I will be riding the bike over in Qatar and Ang gets to go with me. She gets to play crew girl and crew chief. We will see how she likes that. I am sure she will do a good job, but I know she likes racing much better. We will fly out on March 16 and return just in time to get on another plane to go to Houston.

We are really excited that the season starts very soon. I am very eager to do an awesome job for Schumacher/Nitro Fish racing. We will be testing in Valdosta on Monday and Tuesday before the Gators. If you come out to the Gators come by and see us.
