This past weekend I was invited to attend the V-Twin Expo in Cincinnati, Ohio with CP Pistons. Snake (owner of CP) requested I bring the Nitrofish Buell to put on display at the show. Friday morning Angie and I headed north around 6 a.m. It only took us about 6 hours to get to the show. We arrived and unloaded so they could finish setting up the booth. We all had dinner at Rockbottom restaurant. It was awesome. After dinner we turned in for the night.
Saturday we spent the day at the show. Angie and I did get a chance to walk around and talk to some of the business partners that are involved in drag racing. That evening we decided to go back to Rockbottom again. The food was so awesome that we went back to get something different. After dinner we all went to the bar in our hotel and watched the Bud Shootout. Scott Speed ran well in practice and he was starting in the fourth position. On lap 4 Kyle Busch bumped him to the middle and it wasn’t good for him. He ended up near the back and then got involved in a crash with Robby Gordon and a few others. I really wanted Scott to do well but it will be fine. He has a lot more races this year. I wanted Dale Jr to win then but as we all know that didn’t happen either. He also was involved in a crash. At this point I didn’t care who won. We finished watching the race and then turned over to NHRA. I can say that I am glad I am not out there in Pomona. It has rained for days out there literally.
Sunday was the final full day of the show. We mostly stayed at the CP booth and hung out with Snake, Cindy, Scott, and Scott. We had a blast with these guys. Charles Barkley attended the show and he stopped by the CP booth. I got him to sit on the bike and the guy with him said he had only been on 3 bikes his whole life. Ang got her picture made with him. He was very down to earth and very nice. Scott Valetti asked all of us to go to dinner. We went to an awesome place on the Cincinnati River called the Boathouse. They had “melt in your mouth” ribs. I can say I will going back there if I am ever in the Ohio area again. Ang and I were pretty tired so we went to the room and watched NHRA and had a peaceful evening.
Monday we loaded up and headed home. We had a great time with everyone from CP. We are very thankful to have people in the industry such as CP Pistons.
