Okay, so I secured my spot in the Countdown. Our goal was to still be No. 1 after Indy at we are, so now it is show time.

We went into Indy with hopes of keeping the top spot and if we won the race, then so be it. However after we saw that we were running so well, I definitely was focused on winning the race. Our bike was so fast. We lost the second round of the Ringers Challenge, which sucked, but we did all we could do there. We maybe missed the setup a little but, but I felt that we did decent in it.

As far as raceday went at Indy, well here’s the drama. We had dad, Angie and myself running on Monday. Dad was running in Pro Mod and kicking butt. He was the highest qualified nitrous car in the field and was just putting out killer numbers. He won first and second round and was hauling the mail into the semi’s. He had to race his teammate and beat him on the tree, but then the car went into tire shake and he ended up losing. His teammate won, so all in all it was a good showing for him. He was definitely the car to beat though. For sure!

Angie was running great all weekend as well. She had Angelle first round and with Angie only winning one round of racing in the NHRA, she knew she had her work cut out for her. She remained focused and not only left on Angelle, but outran her as well. Second round she had Andrew and she left on him too, but he ended up beating her because he ran a better elapse time. She did great though. I’m glad to see things finally coming together on her bike.

My bike was just hateful all weekend. We won the Full Throttle Award and qualified No. 1. I was pumped going in to raceday. First round we were flying again. Second round just sucked. We were way ahead at half track, then the bearing in the motor locked up and needless-to-say we were done. Man, I was pissed. We kept our No. 1 spot though, so at least I had that on my side.

I don’t know if any of you came around our pits at Indy, but if you did I am sure you saw Scott Speed. He was there on Friday, Saturday and Sunday before leaving to go to his race on Monday. It was his first drag race ever and I am pretty sure we taught him a thing or two. Amanda (my sis) took him on the line for some fuel cars and she said he was crying because of the nitro. Too funny… He said it was definitely something that totally blew him away. He also stood on the line for all of my passes and I think we converted him to one of my biggest fans. He even wants to go to drag racing school this winter to learn how to ride a bike. He was actually so excited about it that he put on my leathers from last year and was preparing as you can tell from my pictures. I swear, it had to be the funniest thing I have ever witnessed in my life. I thought my dad was going to die laughing. He will be in Charlotte on Friday, so if you all are around come check him out. He is just too much!

As you all know, this weekend is the big Charlotte race, which is near my hometown. This race is very exciting for me, because I have a ton of family and friends who have never seen me race before, except for on TV. We will have a ton of people around this weekend. It is going to be a lot of fun and hopefully we can put on a great show for them. I heard the track is unbelievable, so it should make for some great racing.

Hope you all are in town or coming in town for the event, because it is going to be awesome. The first race of the Countdown, the first race ever in Charlotte, and my hometown track. It just doesn’t get any better than this, so come check us out. It’s gonna be a blast!
