Blowout!Friday, July 04, 2008
Posted by: Matt and Angie Smith
Hey guys, Matt here. I just thought I would write in and give you all an update on what has been going on around home.

After we left Norwalk we had a little mishap on the way back to the house. We were going down the mountain coming into North Carolina and all of a sudden a huge boom occurred. Next thing I know I am trying my best to keep the race trailer from hitting the guardrail and potentially tipping over. Needless to say, I had my hands full. We blew a right front tire and it tore up the truck, big time. We had to sit on the side of the road for a while before we could get the tire fixed. The trailer, however, took a little more time. We actually just got it repaired and back together last night. It was a total disaster!

So between trying to work on that and trying to get things ready with the bike for the West Coast I have had no time to myself. Hopefully we can get caught up here and I can have a day for the family on Sunday before we all head out to Denver. It is a long drive out west, so I need all the relaxation I can get before we leave.

Dad is doing well. He has been racing his Pro Mod car every weekend here lately. He is running in Radford, Va., at the Motor Mile this weekend, so if you are in town definitely check him out.

Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you the cool thing that happened in Norwalk. Tristan, my little boy, has been on the road with me all summer and will continue to be for the next month. While we were in Norwalk he decided he wanted a Mohawk, so we went and got him one. It is so cool. I didn’t really realize how long his hair was until the gel was in it … too funny! Anyway, I will write back in a soon as I get a chance. See ya soon!
