Hey everybody! Well, HOT-lanta is almost here and we are ready. We have been working our tails off the last few weeks and I am proud to say that we have finally caught up. Not only have we converted all of our motors over to be like the one I ran in Houston, but we have been working on finding Angie a sponsor as well. We got a few things together for her, so she can go to a few more races. Hopefully we can find something permanent for her soon.
So anyway, after three long weeks of hard work we decided to take a night off and go out on the town. My sister Amanda got us tickets to get into Dale Jr.’s new bar, Whisky River, so we all went down there Friday night. It was pretty dang cool. The coolest part was there was a line of about 100 people and we walked right past them all, gave the man at the front our name and they took us right in. We were escorted in on a red carpet. It was awesome!
His bar was packed. I’ll have to say it is definitely one of the best bars I have ever been too. They had a million flat screens in there and they were all on different channels, which is always a good thing. The bathroom stalls had shelves in them, so if you had a drink you could set it there instead of on the floor. Pretty good thinking. They also had lockers that you could rent out to put your stuff in while at the bar, which I thought was a neat idea. They played the best music ever. It was a mixture of everything from ‘80s music to hip hop. We had a blast. We ended up leaving there and going to meet Dave Connolly and crew at Rusty Rudder, which is a bar on Lake Norman. Then we all crashed at Shane Tucker’s house. He is in Australia racing, so he wasn’t there, but we took care of his house.
We had to rush home the next morning for my son, Tristan’s soccer game. So needless to say I am exhausted.
I think we are going to head down to Rockingham tomorrow to go watch dad race. He qualified his Pro Stock car there on Friday, then loaded up and headed to Orangeburg to run his Pro Mod car. As long as he stays in the show at Rockingham then he will go back there and race on Sunday. I know, he’s crazy. He also just got back from Bahrain again last week. They did great over there. He was tuning two different cars and both cars made it to the finals. They are so pleased with him that I think he is going back over there a few more times this year. So as you can see we are all staying pretty busy around here.
Well, I guess I’m going to get off here and get back at it. If you all are around in Atlanta come by and check us out.
