Well guys, we have two races left. I wish we had more than just a two-round lead, but, hey, at least I am still in the lead, right?
At the last race our clutch cable broke in a marquee matchup. There was nothing I could do. Dad was there helping me since we had three bikes and he was so pissed until I told him what happened, and then he understood.
But how about Angie, she’s got them on their toes, huh? I swear, I love winning, but when she had that staging battle with Andrew I thought I would just die. I mean, she has nothing to lose so she is out there doing what she can to win rounds and man, she is kicking butt. She and Andrew sat there forever. When Andrew red lit I was so pumped. She is doing a great job and I am so proud of her. Maybe before the year is out we can meet up in the finals. That would be too cool!
We have had a few weeks off here lately and have a few more to go before we head out to Vegas, so not only have we been testing and catching up on home activities, but we have been racing a lot.
The weekend after
Memphis, I went with my sister Melissa, who just got her Super Comp license. We went to her first divisional race in
Commerce, Ga., and she won the first two rounds. She would’ve won the third round, but I messed up on the tune-up. I turned it back a little too much. The next weekend she and Dad went to
Richmond to race and I went to Rockingham to race in the AHDRA race and won. We were stupid fast. After qualifying on Saturday in Rockingham we drove down to
Charlotte to watch the Cup race.
Scott Speed was supposed to be making his first Cup race there, so we went to hang out in the infield and in the Red Bull Energy Station, but since it rained he didn’t get to qualify. We still went to hang out and had a great time. Tristan, my little boy, loved it. He had a headset that let him hear the drivers and he just sat there and watched. It was pretty funny!
This week we have just been catching up around home trying to get things in order before we head to the West Coast again. Dad is racing this weekend at the IHRA race in Rockingham, so Angie and I are headed there to go watch him run. He has been flying here lately in his Pro Mod car, so he should run rather well this weekend at the Rock, so the whole family will be there, except for Amanda and Scott, who will be in Martinsville for Scott’s Truck and first Cup race. Hopefully he will run well also.
Don’t know if you all will be in Vegas or Pomona or not, but if so, you all should come stop by and root us on. Angie and I try to make as much time as we can for the fans, so come check us out.
