Hey guys! I know it’s been a while, but the last two races were just brutal. There was so much riding on the line that I was just trying to keep my focus, but we ended up in the top four so it all worked out.
We have though had a couple of crazy weeks. In Memphis we ran pretty decent, but I guess I just go a little anxious and went red first round. Man, I was pissed at myself. Then we headed into Texas, where I have never raced at before so you can imagine how stressed out I was. Plus I was short a crew guy because he had other obligations that weekend, so we were all out of sorts. The first two passes we didn’t even have all the spark plug wires connected. We were running off of one cylinder on Friday. Once we realized it, we of course fixed it and ran a lot better on Saturday.
We had a pretty good day Sunday as well. We definitely had some close races. My goal and my focus this past week was to stay in the top-four, and we did so now we just got to get ready for the last two. We have about a month off before Vegas and Pomona, so I will be working very hard to find more horsepower. I’m sure we will be testing a lot as well, so I will keep you all updated.
Dad is running well, too. He made it to the semi’s this past weekend in Michigan just like me, and he is going to Budds Creek this weekend to race. He won it last year and it would be real cool if he won it again this year.
My mom’s birthday is today, so HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!
I will be working for the next couple of days in the shop, then Amanda and I are headed down to Daytona Beach, Fla., For Mike Skinner’s Charity Golf/Poker Tournament, which should be a lot of fun. If anyone is in the area we will be at Daytona International Speedway Thursday night. Come check us out!
