Work, work, work…Friday, August 24, 2007

Well this has been a whirlwind week. Qualifying didn’t go so well for me in Reading, and raceday didn’t either for that matter. We blew up a motor first round against Andrew, and when I say blew it up, I mean blew it up. The piston went all the way through the exhaust pipe. I swear, here lately I have had some big bills to pay with all the stuff I have been blowing up. But you have to try new things in order to make headway, right?

Chris, however did have a good week. He cut great lights and we finally got his bike running consistent numbers. He almost got in the Countdown. Man, it was so close. He was only 11 points from making the cut. So even though we didn’t get his bike in the top eight, we did get it running better. He is definitely going to be a spoiler for the big dogs the rest of the year.

So anyway, after driving back home Wednesday night, we got back to work early Thursday morning. We have a lot of work to do in order to get ready for Indy. Between putting motors back together and running them on the chassis dyno, then trying to find time to go testing, my days are running low. We have been working around the clock to get things done.

Yesterday we ran Chris’s new motor that he ran in Reading, on the dyno. And, yes, here are the pictures I promised a while back. The motor ran great and I couldn’t be more pleased with the dyno. It is awesome! It took a while to figure it all out, but it’s definitely going to turn things around over here, motor wise.

Hopefully we are going to be able to go testing before Indy. I love going to Indy by the way, heck who doesn’t. I have some awesome memories from Indy, especially last year. We were No. 1 and won the race. It was so cool. My dad wasn’t there last year, but he will be this year so hopefully we can do it again. Actually my whole family will be there. Dad is racing in Michigan this week, then driving straight to ORP with my younger sister Melissa. Then Amanda, my other sister, is coming up Saturday night after her truck race in St. Louis. Mom, Tristan (my kid), and Rex (Amanda’s kid) are coming up Friday after school, so it will be real cool having the whole family there. I am not sure if we have ever had a race where we were actually all there together.

If you guys are in the area, come by and check us out. Keep rooting for us, while we try and keep our points lead because now it has been cut to only a 10 point lead. Gotta get back to work. See ya!
