Hey guys, Rickie here. I know it’s been a while, but I have been so busy testing my race cars trying to get ready for my season to kick off I just haven’t had a chance to write in. We have tested at a ton of tracks over the last few months, most recently at South Georgia Motorsports Park (SGMP) and in Rockingham.
Last week we were testing at SGMP with many other mountain-motor Pro Stock cars, which has actually been our first true test next to other cars. Over the winter we mostly tested by ourselves, but at SGMP we had a ton of guys show up. We ran really well there. One run was at 6.309 at 222.80 and another was at 6.310 at 222.88. Of course, we were fired up over those numbers and can’t wait to get back to racing. We were going to put in a new motor the next day and see if we could run in the 6.20s, but we never got a chance because of the weather. So we loaded up and went home.
This past weekend we also did a little bit of pre-season racing in Rockingham. They had something called a Spring Shootout, which I didn’t even here about until a day after everyone else had already been down there running. So, of course, as soon as I heard about it, we loaded everything up and took off. We got there and made a few passes and actually ended up winning the Spring Shootout, so that was pretty cool. We ran a 6.341 and a 6.351 on Saturday there.
Needless to say I am pretty pumped up and more than ready for racing to get underway. This weekend I am taking my Pro Mod car and going down to San Antonio, Texas, for an ADRL race, so if you guys are in the area come check us out. I will also be in Gainesville in a few weeks for Matt’s first Pro Stock Motorcycle race, so keep checking up on us you never know where we might be next.
