Well, I hope everyone had a great Christmas and got some much needed relaxation. We honestly haven’t done much of anything around here. Trying to just take some time off and hang out with the family.
We have a pretty big family and never really get to see them much, so at Christmas everyone comes together and we have dinner. I think there were about 30 of us from my dad’s side of the family that got together last Sunday night. We had a great time and it was great to see everyone again. After dinner about 10 of us loaded up into dad’s new motor home and went to Tanglewood to see the lights. A Christmas time every year Tanglewood puts up these awesome lights and we normally go to see them, but just haven’t been in a while. So it was fun to go see everything again. About half way through the lights they have a place where you can go look and buy hand crafted items or buy food and drinks. Rex wanted to roast marshmallows in this huge fire pit they had, which was actually pretty cool so we had to get some of them. The line of cars getting in and going through theses lights was so long that we didn’t even get back home till around one o’clock in the morning, but it was worth it.
We woke up on Christmas Day hoping it would snow, but of course it didn’t. We had a ton of family things to do, just as I am sure you all did as well. So needless to say at the end of the day we were exhausted. One of my presents was the NHRA year-end DVD. It is awesome! We have watched it so many times already and every time we watch it everyone just cries all over again. Someone called me “the Champ” the other day and it felt so weird, but hey I guess I am. Kind of cool, huh?
Anyway, I know a while back I talked about how we love playing paintball. Well it’s been so warm here lately that we have been playing almost every day. We have got dad addicted to it, I think. I’m gonna tell you what though, it is a great workout. Your adrenaline gets going and by the time you are done with the game you are totally out of breath. We love playing. We’ve actually started to gather a lot more people than just the family playing, so I think tomorrow we are going to have to move the other set of woods on the other side of the house. I went and bought these blow-up barricades to put in the woods and they are pretty cool, too. The only thing that sucks is we are all covered in bruises, but, hey, we are having a good time. No pain, no gain, right?
Well, I hope all of you have a great New Year’s and I will write in again soon.
