So after helping dad out a bit last weekend at Farmington, testing at Rockingham and working long hours this week in the shop I decided to take this past Saturday off. Amanda, Utt, Rex, Tristan and I went to the NASCAR race in Charlotte and we had a blast.
We sat in traffic forever, but once we got there it was great. It was Rex and Tristan’s first NASCAR race ever, so they were pumped. Amanda took Rex in the garage, so he got to see a lot of really cool things. He even got to go on pit road. You should have seen his face, he was so excited. While they were in there, we headed up to the stands. We got free tickets, so we were in turn two, which actually wasn’t that bad. A lot of the cars actually hit the wall there, so the boys loved that. They got to see some wrecks and you know how little boys love that.
During one of the cautions I went down a bought some Dale Jr. stuff and you wouldn’t believe how cheap I got it for. I got a kids shirt for $3. Anyway, we definitely had a good time. It’s nice to be on the opposite side of the spectrum for a bit, even though it would be real cool to race one of those cars… HA HA!
Dad is racing this weekend in Rockingham and I am probably going to make a few exhibition/testing passes on Friday and Saturday up there in between the Pro qualifying passes. If any of you all are in town, come check us out!
