I know I haven’t written in a while, but I have honestly been so busy that I really haven’t had time for anything. My Pro Stock car and Pro Mod car have been keeping me more than busy here lately. I have been running around all over the country trying to get them both exactly where they need to be performance wise, and I have finally succeeded.

This past weekend I went down to a drag strip called Coastal Plains. It is an NHRA-based track in Jacksonville, N.C., owned by Troy and Ronnie Humphrey (Greg Anderson’s father-in-law and brother-in-law). I drove down Thursday night in order to make an appearance on Friday at Camp Lejeune, one of the biggest Marine bases in the world. It stretches over 156,000 acres. I was in awe when I got there. I knew it was big, but I didn’t know it was that big. I took my Pro Mod car down to the base and put it on display for the Marines to see. They were incredible. They kept telling me that they were huge fans, and they were so excited to meet me and so forth. And all I could think was I couldn’t believe I was there meeting them. It was a wonderful experience all the way around. I spoke with many of them about their duties and then answered many questions about the racecar. I invited them all out to the track the next night to watch the race, and many showed up, to my surprise.

Saturday, race day was so hot. It was about 90 degrees and incredibly humid in Jacksonville. We unloaded the trailer and set up. By the time we got done we were soaked from sweat. Good thing was we had a few hours till the first round of qualifying. I ended up No. 2 and by the time first round came around the weather had totally changed. It was now night time and it was much cooler than it had been earlier in the day. Round by round we kept getting quicker and by the time the night was over we were looking to break the track record. We came within a few thousandths of the track record and also ended up winning the race as well. All in all it was a great weekend.

We don’t have any off weekends for a while, actually not till the end of the season. So we will be testing a lot during the middle of the week. Keep your eye out for us you never know where we will be racing next.
