Pro Stock Motorcycle rider Dawn Minturn is preparing for her first race of the 2012 season at the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals presented by Auto-Plus at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis. She will be piloting a Matt Smith Racing Buell as one of the more than 20 riders vying for a spot in the 16-bike field.

“I am so pumped for this race. It has been really hard not racing up until this point in the season, but sponsorship has not been easy to come by,” said Minturn, who with her team attended the open test session at Lucas Oil Raceway last Wednesday. “We had the opportunity to do some testing last week, and we were very pleased with the results. The test session was my first time on a Buell, and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by the feel and performance of the S&S V-Twin power. Matt Smith did an exceptional job making me feel comfortable on the bike and letting me know what to expect on each run.”

Minturn landed Armor Paving & Sealing of Columbus as her title sponsor for this race as well as associate sponsors Rusty Bucket Restaurant and Tavern (headquartered in Columbus), Rider Insurance (headquartered in Springfield, N.J.), and Schiets Motorsports of Fremont, Ohio.

“We are really excited to have Armor Paving & Sealing, the Rusty Bucket, Rider Insurance, and Schiets Motorsports onboard for this race. Don Trasin, owner of Armor Paving & Sealing, is a drag racer himself. His passion and love for the sport is just as strong as ours, and we look forward to sharing the excitement of the weekend with him.”
