All 23 NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series events feature same-day television coverage on ESPN2 of the Professional-class action with play-by-play from motor racing veteran Paul Page and expert color commentary by former Top Fuel and Funny Car racer Mike Dunn. Sundays kick off with NHRA Race Day presented by Lucas Oil, a half-hour pre-race show that gets you up to speed for the day's activities. ESPN2 also offers coverage of the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series. NHRA Drag Racing also is aired in Canada on TSN.

The Public Relations Department of zMax Dragway, led by Scott Cooper and Adrian Parker, took advantage of an open weekend on the Charlotte-area sports scene and the marketing savvy of track owner Bruton Smith to fly a contingent of Charlotte media to the 55th annual Mac Tools U.S. Nationals presented by Lucas Oil today. The group -- five television stations: WBTV, WCNC, WSOC, WCCB, and News 14 and Ron Green, reporter for the Charlotte Observer -- spent time with a variety of NHRA drivers, including Castrol GTX Ford Mustang driver Ashley Force Hood and Castrol GTX High Mileage Ford Mustang driver John Force.

“Coming to Charlotte and zMax Dragway is a big deal for us. NASCAR is so big in that area we are excited to bring the excitement of Full Throttle Drag Racing Series in a few weeks. I am looking forward to getting the Countdown to 1 started. Right now, we are No. 3 in points, and we are trying to move up closer to the top of the point standings,” said Force Hood.

Force Hood and Force talked up the excitement level associated with the 2nd annual NHRA Carolinas Nationals, Sept. 17-20, as the first race of the Countdown to 1 and the interest in the planned four-wide exhibition run prior to the final round Sunday, Sept. 20.
