Top Fuel racer Hillary Will, sidelined this season because of economic conditions, will be back behind the wheel of a dragster for three races this year, piloting Tom Conway's national championship Top Alcohol Dragster with the backing of Get Screened America and in support of Operation Holiday Hope.
Will will be competing at the NHRA Las Vegas Nationals and the Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals in Pomona as well as the Lucas Oil Series Division 7 event in Las Vegas scheduled for the weekend between the events.
"I can't tell you how excited I am to get back in a dragster," Will said. "The Tom Conway-tuned car was my first choice when I decided I wanted to get back in Top Alcohol. Thankfully, the seat was available this year, and thankfully, Roger Burgess agreed to support my comeback.
"I'm a very health-conscious person, so I'm glad I have the opportunity to encourage our fans and teams to take care of themselves by getting screened at the Get Screened America pavilion or at their family doctor's office. Taking a few minutes and getting some simple tests goes a long way in saving lives," she said.
Will is also racing to bring awareness to Operation Holiday Hope, a charity whose goal is to raise money for children in the inner city who live in poverty. All funds raised buy gifts for kids whose parents are not going to be able to afford to buy them holiday presents.
"I've seen firsthand the hope and love that this organization provides for these kids who need it. They help put smiles on a lot of faces. This means a lot to me, and I want to give back. Helping to raise money for Operation Holiday Hope is just one way I know how."
As a spokeswoman for Get Screened America, Will will be involved in several publicity events as well.
