Greg Anderson, left, teammate Jason Line, second from right, and Victor Cagnazzi, far right, were on hand to support Todd Bevis, second from left.

For one very special night, an area of the Cagnazzi Racing shop normally reserved for the preparation of 200-mph Pro Stock race cars was transformed into a very special meeting place, with hundreds of people gathering to help a racer in need. The Todd Bevis Benefit, which was held Saturday in Mooresville, N.C., drew friends, family members, and former teammates from as far away as Texas and New Jersey, who enjoyed an evening of music, food, drink, and companionship in support of a well-respected member of the motorsports community.

As part of the event, a silent and live auction was held, featuring items ranging from race car parts and memorabilia from a variety of sanctioning bodies to beach vacations and airplane rides; the proceeds will go toward offseting Bevis’ escalating medical costs. Although the tally has yet to be finalized, it is estimated that more than $27,000 was raised. The highlight of the evening, however, came when Bevis addressed the crowd prior to the start of the live auction. Thanking them for their support and friendship, he showed the wit and humor for which he is so well-known.

With Bevis continuing his fight to “kick cancer’s butt,” donations are still being accepted. For more information, contact:
