Ron Barr, host of the Sports Byline USA radio show that originates in San Francisco, returned Thursday evening, July 23, from a two-week tour in Iraq and Afghanistan. When Barr was in Mosul, Iraq, he was talking with a group of soldiers from the U.S. Army 25th Infantry Division who asked if he knew Brandon and Kenny Bernstein.

When Barr told them he was going to see the Bernsteins upon his return to the U.S., they gave him an American flag that they had flown on a Stryker vehicle. In honor of those men and all those who are serving that country, that flag is flying from the Budweiser/Lucas Oil tow vehicle this morning.

Barr said, “When they handed me the flag, they said, ‘Thanks for bringing some normalcy to our lives. Please give this flag to Kenny and Brandon Bernstein.’ ”

“We are very humbled that these brave soldiers would send us the United States flag that meant so much to them,” said Kenny Bernstein. “We are honored to fly the flag in their honor.”
