All 23 NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series events feature same-day television coverage on ESPN2 of the Professional-class action with play-by-play from motor racing veteran Paul Page and expert color commentary by former Top Fuel and Funny Car racer Mike Dunn. Sundays kick off with NHRA Race Day presented by Lucas Oil, a half-hour pre-race show that gets you up to speed for the day's activities. ESPN2 also offers coverage of the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series. NHRA Drag Racing also is aired in Canada on TSN.

NHRA Funny Car points leader Ashley Force Hood is used to going from point A to point B as quickly as possible in her Castrol GTX Ford Mustang Funny Car in the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series. For the next three weeks, however, Force Hood and her husband, Dan, will be taking their time as they tackle the daunting NHRA Western Swing behind the wheel of an El Monte RV.

“This will be quite an adventure for Dan and me. A lot of the other drivers take their families on the road for the Western Swing, so we thought it would be a lot of fun. Plus, we can bring along our cat, Simba, which is a huge bonus since when we are on the road, he really misses us. I haven’t really traveled in an RV that much, but this El Monte RV is like driving a dream house. It is so comfortable and easy to drive,” said Force Hood.

“I am looking forward to being able to stop and see all the neat sites along the way. We used our AAA TripTik Travel Planner to map out the best route for us as well as where all the gas stations, restaurants, and, most important, where the Starbucks are located,” added Force Hood.

The pair set off for Denver, site of the 30th annual Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals, Monday, July 6, from the John Force Racing headquarters in Yorba Linda, Calif. After the Denver race, they will hit the road for Seattle, where Force Hood will be racing at the 22nd annual NHRA Northwest Nationals at Pacific Raceways July 17-19. The next-to-last leg of the trip will take them to Infineon Raceway in Sonoma for the 22nd annual Fram Autolite NHRA Nationals July 24-26 before they return to Yorba Linda at the end of the month.

The couple will travel approximately 2,115 miles in style behind the wheel of an '09 34-foot Class A Bounder by Fleetwood. It is loaded with luxury amenities and is the same type of vehicle being driven in the new TV show The Great American Road Trip on NBC.
