In conjunction with Harry Schmidt and Mike Boisvert, Crawford Motorsports will campaign a 1969 Mustang-bodied nostalgia Funny Car for the 2010 nostalgia season as a tribute to Schmidt's original Blue Max.

Schmidt, who created the first of the famed funny cars in 1969, borrowed the name from the German medal of honor.

"We wanted the car's appearance to match the level of performance we strive to attain," said Josh Crawford, owner and driver of the car and runner up at the 2009 NHRA California Hot Rod Reunion.  "Having Blue Max on the side of the car is a lot to live up to, but I'm confident we'll do it justice."

Veteran Bob Brooks will continue as crew chief, turning the wrenches on the 413-cid nitro burning engine during NHRA Hot Rod Heritage and match races appearances.
