All 24 NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series events feature same-day television coverage on ESPN2 of the Professional-class action with play-by-play from motor racing veteran Paul Page and expert color commentary by former Top Fuel and Funny Car racer Mike Dunn. Sundays kick off with NHRA Race Day presented by Lucas Oil, a half-hour pre-race show that gets you up to speed for the day's activities. ESPN2 also offers coverage of the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series. NHRA Drag Racing also is aired in Canada on TSN.

Speedway Children’s Charities’ poker tournament raises $16,425Thursday, October 29, 2009

The Las Vegas chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities held its sixth annual Cards for Kids Texas Hold ‘em poker tournament at the Cannery Casino Hotel Wednesday night and raised a record $16,425 for the children of southern Nevada.

Among the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series stars participating in the event were Greg Anderson, “Fast Jack” Beckman, Brandon Bernstein, Gary Densham, Larry Dixon, Jason Line, Morgan Lucas, Spencer Massey, Cory McClenathan, Karen Stoffer, and announcer Bob Frey.

Indy car team owner Sam Schmidt finished second in the tournament, which raised more than $3,000 more than the 2008 event. Las Vegas resident Mike Kiney won the tournament.

The tournament was sponsored by the Cannery Casino Hotel, Richard Petty Driving Experience, Nevada Beverage, and Coca-Cola.
