This weekend, the motorsports community will take time from its busy racing season to lend a hand to one of its own. On Saturday, Aug. 8, the defending NHRA Pro Stock world championship Cagnazzi Racing team will hold a fundraiser to benefit Todd Bevis, the head of the team’s chassis fabrication shop, who was diagnosed with head and neck cancer in May. The event, which will be held at the team’s shop in the Lakeside Park industrial complex in Mooresville, N.C., will feature a live and silent auction (for which donations are still being accepted), live music, and food and drinks. Proceeds will help defray the family’s rising medical costs.

“Todd Bevis is not only a vital part of the Cagnazzi Racing family, but also a well-known and respected member of the racing community,” said team owner Victor Cagnazzi.  “Therefore, we thought we would take advantage of a rare weekend off to hold a fundraiser to help Todd and his family through this difficult time. We ask you to keep them in your prayers and invite everyone to come out on Saturday to have a good time while showing their support for one of the truly good guys of our sport.”
