Yesterday was Father’s Day and I wanted to start out by saying Happy Father’s Day to my father Paul; he has been such a great role model for me as well as giving me the tools to live my dream of drag racing everyday. There are too many fathers out there that helped mentor me along the way to personally thank but you know who are and I hope you enjoyed your day. As I was driving home from Del Rio yesterday after spending the day with Jennifer’s father and family my phone went off and it was a text from my buddy Aaron Sharp. The message was simple and to the point, he said it’s not April anymore so update your blog! So Aaron here you go buddy and thanks for all you do for us…

We have officially started the season in my eyes now that we’ve run a handful of races and let me say it’s looking like it’s going to be a little more difficult than last year to earn a Wally. There is a little bit of controversy brewing again like in 2012 but this time for me I don’t really care because it’s not going to change anything and I’m damn sure not letting affect my racing. I have too many great things in my life to worry about the politics of racing. This year I really told myself before Gainesville that I’m not going to let anyone’s actions or words affect my racing this year and with all that’s going on right now I couldn’t be happier about where I’m at mentally when I show up at the track. A lot of that I think has to do with all the awesomeness that has been going on around the shop as well in the city of Austin and San Antonio. The shops had some big parties over the last few weeks with Gruene having our 8 year anniversary party as well as Javelina got a huge new addition that was well deserved so they had a huge shindig to celebrate. A couple of us went out there to check out the new building as well as check out Unknown Industries, a really awesome stunt group that rides Harley FXR’s and is just flat out SICK!!! The new building is so nice and the coolest part is Rugger’s new desk, it’s the body off our Buell that we won Dallas with in 2012. It’s really cool how they built the desk and displayed the body. Now all I have to do is keep moving up the ladder and that desk in the big office will be mine, until then my desk with an original Harley VR1000 body hanging up underneath is just fine.

Now I don’t know how many of you have had a chance to experience an XGames or not, if you have you know exactly what I’m saying when I tell you all that haven’t been, PLEASE GO!!! It’s such a cool show that they have and since it was at the Circuit of The Americus that just made it better. It was my first time to experience the XGames and they had some of the coolest vendors with cool interactive stuff that really made the fan experience awesome. We all had to work Saturday of the event but as soon as we got off a few of us hopped in my buddies truck to go check out Kanye West, he was the music headliner for Saturday and I’ve always been a huge fan so I couldn’t miss the chance to see him. The venue has a huge amphitheater inside and it was so crowded in there that security wasn’t letting anyone else in when we got there, so that just meant we had to hop the fence and sneak in.
Now I don’t encourage anyone to hop the fence, climb through the stands, and run from security ever, but every now and then you have to do it. Luckily I wore shoes instead of flip flops because I don’t run well in those babies…

We got in, checked out the concert, and didn’t go to jail so I would say it was a success. On Sunday we all went back up to check out some of the remaining events and really enjoy ourselves. They had some of the XR Street 750 motorcycles that Harley is trying to get turned into an XGames sport for next year. Those bikes looked so awesome and I really do hope that they can get those in because it would be great for the motor company as well as motorcycle racing. Plus I would really hound Schoony from Harley to let me try it once. I have always had huge desire to get out and whip a bike around on a flat track and I think it would be kool to see a drag racer out there mixing it up.

I’m going to wrap this up for the day. That’s really what’s been happening in my world other then watering my grass and riding my street bikes around being silly. I leave Thursday of this week for a quick 3 in a row so we will have some great times out on the road over the next few weeks. Hopefully I don’t have to use the spare valve cores we now keep in the trailer…. See ya
