Well folks, after Pomona we were obviously very excited about how things turned out. It has just been a great week all the way around; everyone is very happy and the guys are in a great mood. Don Schumacher is in a great mood. All the Fram folks and all our sponsors are very happy that we were able to go to Pomona with two DSR cars and put them both in the final in Top Fuel. Hopefully for me this is a huge beginning of a great year. It shows all the work that the guys have done during the off-season has really paid off already. We will take that second place going into Phoenix and hopefully we can kind of go on from there.
I cannot take credit for our great performance in Pomona. My guys have worked so hard. Mike Green did a great preparation in the off-season. It is all about the people with whom you surround yourself.
Other than that, it was two days later that I was back from good ol' Pomona and came home to a brand new puppy named Tori. She is a buff colored Cocker Spaniel and is 14 weeks old now. We will definitely get some pictures to everyone so they can see her on the next blog. She is a beautiful dog. This whole deal started with a guy named Tom Neff back in Pomona and he found me a new dog after the loss of Cookie, my 17-year-old Cocker Spaniel. Tom is a fan I met a long time ago and he named his child after me. It was a really nice thing for him to take that much interest. When you have a dog forever and lose it, it is nice to have a new beginning. We are very excited about that, as we are about the new season and the way it started off. I look forward to going into Phoenix in second place.
I had some good family time back at home in Indy and I am excited to get back on the road again and get to Phoenix. I will be leaving to head that way Wednesday. I am excited to see everyone in Phoenix. After Sunday we are headed to the Matco Tools Fair and we are excited to do that for John Torok and all the folks at Matco. I look forward to meeting and starting new relationships.
See you at the races!
