Happy anniversary!Tuesday, October 28, 2008

Okay, how was I supposed to know that the fat lady’s favorite food was raisin bagels? If that doesn’t make sense to you, I’m not going there ... onward!

Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad! Not just any anniversary … Happy 50th! Can you believe that a couple can be married for 50 years? We flew to California and surprised them with a limo and a big catered party. We all really enjoyed ourselves and I think that my mother’s face froze with a big smile plastered across it.

Here are a few pics taken during the celebration. You should have seen the looks on their faces when the long, white limo pulled up. My mother thought that we hired Elvis. The little wise-looking lady (notice I didn’t say old or white haired.....very smart on my part) next to me in one of the photos?  That is my mother’s mother, Grandma Schaber. She is 93 years old and still sharp as a tack! I hope that it runs in the family. We are actually in the process of licensing Grandma Schaber to drive Funny Car for next season.

Just wanted to see if you were paying attention...not really.

Anyway, happy anniversary Mom and Dad! You are marital inspiration for all ... not to mention an example of tolerance. Sorry dad!

Onward to Vegas. This was the scene of out last victory earlier in the season. It would be nice to double down there this weekend! We have had a couple of weekends off and it seems like a month. The Fram crew is ready to eat nails. We are very hungry for a victory, and as far as we are concerned, overdue for the next Wally.

We are less than two rounds out of second place and we know what we have to do. The last two events are going to be red hot for the fans to watch. Especially the Funny Car standings. Can you believe the points are so close? We are certainly pulling for our teammate Jack Beckman, to pull off a Funny Car victory.

That’s the ticket ... my bet is on the Fram team in Top Fuel and the MTS boys in Funny Car. Place your bets ladies and gentlemen, Vegas is feeling lucky again!

See you at the races.
